You just got rid of that pile of shit volvo, so you're going to toss that money into a truck that a homeless methhead was sleeping in last night?

I'd be really careful of needed repairs, might need a clutch and general maintenance. Not even including stuff to pass emissions and inspection.

It's a double edged sword. On one hand, you can put a RB26DETT in your car if you want and no state officials will give a shit.
On the other, you'll be driving along side some things that really need to be taken off the road. I'm talking about cars that are missing all their body panels, light trucks that have pallets stacked higher than a tractor trailer on them, and noseless things that use those cheap-ass autozone fog light kits as headlights.

Hmm.. Why not? The tag and insurance will be like $100 a year. Besides everyone needs a truck.

I'd recommend you buy a Miata. It will bring your love back yo cars, be more reliable, and have a great following.
Highly recommend this one: http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/ctd/491449… . Even if you have to do a bit of a trip to get there.

As a Ranger driver (No Denver isn't the only one), I vote yes. Parts are fairly plentiful and these can be about one step off of a VW as far as simplicity goes. And for most of them being junk, they can be cockroaches. Drive her for a while and then either turbo the 2.3 or swap in a 302.
Oh and make that stick shorter. Hopefully the tranny doesn't feel like a bowl of soup after having that stick of stupid on there.
